Pune Surgeons set to perform womb transplants in Kolkata
PUNE: After two successful, back-to-back womb transplants in less than 12 hours at IKDRC, Ahmedabad, Surgeons of Pune's Galaxy Care Hospital are all set to perform womb transplant surgeries at a government-run medical college in Kolkata. In an interview, Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar, Galaxy Care Hospital’s chief transplant surgeon said, "both the Gujarat and West Bengal governments approached us for womb transplants at their hospitals around 02 months ago. Now that we have successfully done the transplant at the IKDRC, Ahmedabad, we will go to the Kolkata college to perform the womb transplant".
